Methodist Day School
A Happy Place to Learn
Our comprehensive and holistic early childhood program, provides the environment and tools your child needs to thrive to the best of their abilities.
When we expose children to various learning experiences, diverse friendships, and a challenging curriculum in a safe and loving environment we afford them an opportunity to gain self-awareness and a sense of the world around them.
Once they leave Methodist Day School, they are fully prepared for the next stage of their young lives.

Our Educational Programs
Classes are based on the child's age as of September 1.
Pre-K3
Children in our Pre-K3 program are just beginning to explore friendships. Social and emotional development is at the core of our Pre-K3 curriculum. This is the age where we learn to interact appropriately with peers, develop personal skills and broaden our independence.
In Pre-K3, we will begin letter and number recognition, learn shapes and colors, reinforce rote counting, listen to and repeat simple rhymes, expand vocabulary and so much more. Our academic work is play-based, hands-on learning scaled to your individual child's level.
Our loving staff will foster your child in developing a feeling of security, independence, self worth and belonging. The students will participate daily in songs, prayers and Bible Stories that will nurture their relationship with God and grow an awareness of the Bible.

Pre-K4
In Pre-K4, our teachers use a challenging, yet fun curriculum carefully designed to engage students in learning across a broad spectrum. While working and playing alongside their classmates, your child will develop cooperative play skills that will allow them to be successful with the structure and nature of a group setting.
Our students become emergent readers through phonics and holistic literary opportunities. They become writers and artists while participating in activities designed to foster creativity. They become mathematicians, engineers and scientists while exploring nature and being challenged by daily STEM activites. Although we are guiding our students to be strong learners and to perform at their optimal level, we are a play-based school using carefully chosen lessons and activities by experienced staff.
Interwoven in our strong academic program are daily Bible stories and enrichment activities. These activities help students to understand their connection to God and His creations in their everyday lives.

Kindergarten
Kindergarten at MDS offers a small class size with both a certified teacher and a dedicated teacher's aide. Our experienced and caring teachers are passionate about education and committed to each child's success.
Our Bible based curriculum focuses on creating a safe loving environment where children will safe and loved while receiving an excellent education that aligns with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills requirements. We offer a balanced program and that combines play, exploration, and structured learning to foster creativity and critical thinking. Our curriculum focuses on social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth, ensuring a well-rounded foundation.
From hands-on activities to outdoor adventures, we make learning fun and engaging.

Chapel & Specials
All classes join our church pastor each month for chapel, a special time dedicated to exploring our Bible stories and lessons more deeply. These gatherings are engaging, age‑appropriate, and help children connect with Scripture in meaningful and joyful ways.
We also offer a variety of enriching specials throughout the week, including Spanish, library, soccer, dance, art, music, gardening, and cooking.
